PROVINCIAL WAYS
When Emma marries Charles, the older co-founder of a tech company, she believes she’s escaped her suburban upbringing. She’s soon shocked to find that her new situation doesn’t carry the glamour she expected it to, and endeavours to fulfill her aspirations of a beautiful life. This retelling of the classic Gustave Flaubert novel MADAME BOVARY places Emma in a contemporary landscape of conspicuous online decadence with its illusions of easy upward mobility and hollow status symbols.
